Rising input costs hurting competitiveness of small manufacturers
Feb 16:
Coimbatore MSME Association ne Union Government se key industrial raw materials ke prices regulate karne ki demand ki hai. Association ka kehna hai ki lagatar badhte input costs ki wajah se small manufacturers ki profitability aur market competitiveness par serious pressure pad raha hai.
Industry representatives ke mutabik steel, aluminium, copper aur polymer jaise essential materials ki price volatility ne production planning ko difficult bana diya hai. MSMEs, jo limited working capital par operate karte hain, unke liye sudden cost increase absorb karna possible nahi hota, jisse orders lose hone aur production cut karne ki situation ban rahi hai.
Association ne government se request ki hai ki price stabilization mechanism, duty rationalization aur supply monitoring jaise measures implement kiye jayein taaki small industries ko predictable cost environment mil sake. Unhone yeh bhi highlight kiya ki large corporations bulk purchasing aur long-term contracts se price fluctuations manage kar lete hain, lekin MSMEs ke paas aisi bargaining power nahi hoti.
Industry body ka maanna hai ki agar raw material prices control nahi huye, toh export orders dusre countries ki taraf shift ho sakte hain kyunki global buyers cost competitiveness ko priority dete hain.
Key Points
- Raw material price regulation ki demand
- Steel, aluminium, copper, polymers par cost pressure
- Small manufacturers ki margins sharply reduce
- Export competitiveness risk me
- Price stabilization aur duty rationalization ki suggestion
Impact
Policy intervention se MSMEs ko stable production planning aur better pricing strategy milegi, jo manufacturing employment aur export growth ko protect kar sakti hai.
