January 1, 2026 Summary: Starting today, the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) has officially increased its guarantee ceiling to ₹10 crore. This allows MSMEs to approach banks for much larger loans without providing any physical security. The government has also reduced the annual guarantee fee to approximately 1% for priority sectors to make borrowing cheaper.
