Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Bharat are increasingly focusing on technology upgrades and better access to market intelligence to enhance productivity and expand into global markets. Government-backed initiatives such as the Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (CLCSS) and the newly launched INSIGHT Platform are playing an important role in supporting this transformation.
Under the CLCSS scheme, MSMEs can receive a 15% capital subsidy on loans up to ₹1 crore for the purchase of new machinery and equipment. The initiative aims to help small businesses upgrade outdated technology, improve manufacturing efficiency, and enhance product quality. By reducing the financial burden associated with modernization, the scheme encourages MSMEs to adopt advanced machinery and production techniques.
Technology upgrades have become increasingly important for MSMEs as competition grows in both domestic and international markets. In addition to technology support, the government has also launched the INSIGHT platform on February 20 to provide trade intelligence and market insights for MSMEs looking to expand internationally. The platform offers information on export opportunities, global demand trends, market access conditions, and sector-specific data that can help small businesses make informed export decisions.
With access to reliable trade intelligence, MSMEs can better identify potential overseas markets, understand regulatory requirements, and develop targeted export strategies. This is expected to improve the participation of small businesses in global supply chains and strengthen Bharat’s export ecosystem.
Together, initiatives like CLCSS and the INSIGHT platform highlight the growing emphasis on technology adoption, innovation, and global market integration within the MSME sector.
