PHDCCI Proposes 2% Interest Subvention on MSME Loans for Budget 2026 Revival

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry submitted comprehensive recommendations to FM Nirmala Sitharaman, prioritizing the reinstatement of a 2% interest subvention on fresh and incremental term loans for MSMEs to combat high borrowing costs that currently exceed 12-14%, hindering expansion and innovation. The wishlist also features elevated MUDRA loan limits from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, bolstered export promotion incentives, single-window GST compliance, and tech upgrade subsidies to empower 6.3 crore MSMEs contributing 30% to GDP and 45% to exports despite persistent liquidity and regulatory bottlenecks.
